THERE IS NO HOPE IN CONTACTING ANYONE IN THIS SCHOOL, LIKE HIX. OR ANYONE.
They are LIARS, they build you up and give you FALSE HOPE. They say they are there to help you and that they will help you with job placement, CPR, and everything else. Which is a complete LIE. Then they send their students out on Externship with no pay and it's up to the students to fend for themselves while they are out there, because in their minds they think they will get hired after Externship...WRONG, that's a LIE.
Enrolled in to the Patient Care Tech Program back in 2010 when it was Kaplan College. Very good school it taught me alot. Very good in-school professors, (Alex Robles)
FIRST OFF. BRIGHTWOOD WAS THE FORMER KAPLAN, WHO WAS THE FORMER CSI, ETC ETC... THEY'RE NO LONGER CREDITED!! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN WHY DRS DON'T CALL YOU AFTER LEAVING APPLICATIONS IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T ACCEPT CERTIFICATES! it's better for you to get a bachelor or associate degree!
I had thought about going back to do the LVN program, but after the Hell I've been through trying to get recertificatied CPR and get my Diploma I DO NOT recommend anyone go here. If you are desperate to get a degree just go to an actual College where you will get the ACTUAL Help you need, where they actually care about their students, and they will take their time to help you. I would recommend that you leave this School as a LAST solution. Not worth your time.
It's the ending that you have to worry about, first of course there's the loan you have to pay for ten years for this nine month curriculum. They want you to start paying every month from the moment you start. & then there's the false promises of giving you that security after graduation that they can help you with employment. If you haven't got hired from your externship then you can consider yourself to be on your own since they put externships first when it should be equal.. I have been unemployed for nearly 3 months already & calling them every week hearing no & no. In my opinion I don't & wouldn't recommend anyone to this school. &they're losing students too... Wonder why.
I have called numerous times (lost count) asking to get Re-certified for my CPR certification and I get passed along through a message when I have to leave a message and they will call you back. WRONG! they NEVER call you back. Also, I have my CMA certification, but they never gave me my DIPLOMA. Once again I have called them numerous of times got passed along through messages again and still NO CALL BACK.
I had a great time at Kaplan. I completed the MA program there and close to finishing the Patient Care Technician program. I am hoping to go back for their LVN program as well.
My husband had several procedures done here and everyone was very attentive and helpful. He was very satisfied with service. Prices are reasonable and although we live in Austin we will be returning.
This school has good instructors such as Ms Harris and Ms Napier. Aside from that their counselors build you up for success and tell you that once you graduate you are more than welcome to comeback and they will help place you in a work environment for your particular study, along with helping you with your CPR certificate and that you can comeback anytime and update your CPR. They say they will help you anyway possible. Then there is this lady by the name of Ms Sharon who takes your money which goes towards your tuition even though you're stuck with this HUGE student loan. She is super rude to students and does not care if you have the funds or not, she will threaten you by telling you "if you don't pay, you can't come back to class"
just stating truth. free speech.
