I will avoid renting from AVIS in the future at all cost and plan to share my experience.
Absolutely horrible!!! We rented a car for our family beach vacation and when we returned it with some sand it in they charged me $250 for a detail FEE!!!!! I wil NEVER, EVER rent from them EVER again!!!!! Im beyond upset!!
Very small facility with limited vehicles to choose from. If you return the car not spotless they will charge you. They have no one in the parking lot to check you in. You have to walk all the way to there office inside the airport and you better have the miles on the odometer or you have to walk back to the car. Basically This location Operates the OLD SCHOOL.
I travel 3 weeks per month for work and always rent from Enterprise and National due to their service, support, loyalty program, and quality. When traveling to Corpus Christi recently for a short trip, I was unable to rent from National/enterprise. My experience with AVIS was not good. I was charged $96.56 by the Corpus Christi airport location for less than a half day rental. I drove approximately 10 miles in a Toyota Corrola and they claim to have need to pump 2 gallons of gas in the tank to fill up the tank that I returned full. Not to mention the rate to fill up was $7.99 per gallon. When I called to address this, the lady at the Corpus location informed me that the automatically charge for 2 gallons of gas for anyone traveling less than 75 miles unless they show/prove they filled up before returning the car. She said I could fax the receipt to them, but instead I decided to use my time to write this review.
We had an easy experience. No trouble getting or returning the car.
Scheduled a reservation for a car and received one in the class requested without delay despite my flight landing two hours later than original time. Staff were friendly but at check in there was only one person at the counter and at check out a few of the staff were in the back office before eventually coming to help. Car was newer model but inside was showing wear and tear of use (primarily dirt and stains consistent with long-term use more than poor cleaning). Drop off was relatively easy: park in any Avis spot and return keys to counter. Would use this location again.
Please take my advice, rent a limousine, taxi, or take the bus if you can't rent from another company in Corpus Christi.
