I personally have this doctor and their office for some reason is like a revolving door for physician assistants because they never keep them very long before they vanish. I have had a few awesome PA's but then the main Dr. gets rid of them or something. They also are not very good about contacting you in advance to say if they are in your insurance company network or not. They'll tell you that they actually accept it but later they will slap you in the face with a big bill before you are able to be seen again and get your medications refilled. They'll let you go through withdrawal process pretty much if you don't have the money for the surprise charges they find. The receptionists are wonderful, the nursing staff is nice enough, but the main doctor is the downfall of the entire practice. They are helping me with my pain but I am only using them because no one else is accepting new patients right now.
This Dr. is completely unprofessional with his staff at the clinic he uses for his surgeries. He yells at them and belittles them. The reason I'm writing this review is because he was scheduled to perform a surgery on one of his patients who was already on the table and put under from the anesthesiologist. He demanded his soda that he like to have stocked in the break room and when told they were all out he flat up and walked out; leaving his patient on the table and the clinic had to cancel the rest of his appointments for the day. The staff at the clinic told the patient when they came to that he had a family emergency and had to leave, but that was the most unethical childish behavior I've seen and that clinic still has to deal with his idiotic rampages until they can find another Dr. to fill the operating rooms to replace him. I hear he is good with his patients, minus leaving that one the way he did. I personally just want people to know before you put your life in the hands of an ego maniac who feels he can yell and treat other people as though they are your servants to bring you food, drinks, custom lunches and if one thing is missing then they go on a tirade like a 2 year old.
I was treated professionally. Staff was personable, in my experience. The two injections Dr. Lopez gave me, a month apart, worked. Neck pain gone for good. That's been several years ago.
Very unprofessional...
My last apt was the worse and that is why I am writing this. I had an 8:30 apt and got there at 8:25. I was not called up to register until 9:05. When I was up there I just asked for my own knowledge why it takes them so long to register and immediately I was bombarded with rudeness and snide remarks. All I did was ask a question. I said that it is not like this at other doctor's offices and just curious. Then the comment "you were in the army right", by the receptionist followed by giggles. I said no I was in the Marine Corps and she rolled her eyes and then giggled even more. At this point I got upset and in a louder than normal tone I told her how I did not appreciate having my military service laughed at or being treated this way. Another member of the team saw that I was getting upset with her and stepped in to finish my copay transaction. I went and sat down and waited another 10 minutes and was called back but redirected to the office manager. I was hoping she wanted to discuss what happened. However, all she did was start defending their policies and had no concern for how I was treated. She said they would refund my copay and just give me my prescription without seeing the nurse. When I tried to ask about what happened it was pushed aside which made me more upset. I took the prescription and left. I didn't even want the refund.
A close friend visited this clinic. The atmosphere in the facility does not bode well for a pleasant experience. The doc was very impatient and impetuous. He sounded rude and unprofessional to his staff and other patients. Take your copay elsewhere!
If you do not like veterans then hang a sign outside your door that says "If you sustained injuries while defending my freedom you are not welcomed and will be laughed at for doing so". I have never been treated so badly in my life.
About and two hours later I receive a call from the office and they put the doctor on. Immediately Dr Lopez starts screaming at me and accusing me of hating women. He is yelling so much and he won't let me get a word in edge wise. I keep trying to tell him what happened but he didn't want to hear it. Just kept saying things like who the F*@% do I think I am and why do I think I can act that way. When I could finally speak I told him that the receptionist laughed at my military service and he immediately starts calling me a liar and defending the receptionist. There were other patients that heard what she said. He didn't care as far as he was concerned I hate women, am rude and I am a liar. After ten years of being his patient I have never had a problem with him until this visit. I can only assume the front staff got together and said I was yelling and being rude.
I have been going here since 2006 because of unfortunate severe injuries from my military service. The doctors are great. Very knowledgeable and are not just looking to make money off your injuries. The staff is what makes it a very bad experience. They change policies often without informing the patient. On one occasion I needed a refill on my prescription and called it in three days prior as instructed and told I would receive a call back when it was ready. That was on a Thursday. I did not hear anything and had just taken my last dose so I went to the office on Monday to pick up my refill, three days later, and was told they do not give out prescriptions on Mondays which is a new policy and I should have picked it up on Friday when it was ready. I was never called that it was ready. So I had to wait two days to pick it up. By this time I was going through withdraws. No fun.
