I went in looking to buy my husband a wedding band and Mr. Tony Garcia helped me find exactly what I was looking for! Super friendly and very knowledgeable staff! Thanks to Mr. Garcia I will definitely be back when its time to pick out my own band!
I stopped in at around the 2 and a half week timeframe to find the same lady that I'd dealt with the 1st night who now told me that "it'll probably take 4 - 6 weeks to get it back". Okay, now I'm completely over this debacle - I just want my watch back.
If you are interested in customer service after the sale, this isn't the jeweler for you. I won't buy a single additional thing from them even if it costs me more money to get it.
I took my 4 ct bridal set and 2 diamond anniversary bands 1/2 ct each to Reeds the week of the 4th of July 2016 to have them cleaned. I was informed that my warranty expired in May and she inquired if I would like to purchase the Life Time Warranty. I would need to send my rings to the jeweler to have them inspected to see if any repairs needed to be made. I agreed. I get a call from Reeds stating that the jeweler will need to tighten the diamonds and have the rhodium redipped and the cost will be $51.00. I agreed and authorized the repair. I then get a call from Reeds That my rings are ready to be picked up. Last Friday (8/5/16) I call Reeds to inquire how much the warranties on the 4 rings plus the $51.00 repair charge would total. I was given the price of $4,890.74 ! In disbelief, thinking it was some kind of mistake. I asked for the name the rings were under and confirmed they are my rings. I asked how they came up with that total and said it was from the repairs that were made to the rings. I informed her I was told that the repairs were to tighten the stones and have the rhodium redipped and the cost was $51.00. Apparently the associate falsified the authorization. I asked to speak to the manager and said he would not be in until Mobday. I spoke to Lizzett the assistant manager and informed her I authorized the tightening of the stones and have rhodium redipped for $51.00. I did not authorize any other repairs because I was never informed of any additional repairs. I inquired what other repairs were made. She said 2 of the quad stones were replaced. This is the first time I'm hearing about the diamonds being replaced and told her I did not speak to anybody from Reeds that diamonds needed to be replaced nor did I speak to anybody from Reeds that it would be $4,890.74. Asked her why the diamonds were replaced and said they must have been chipped, cracked, or damage. I told her I did not authorize this repair and I will be calling the manager on Monday. I speak to manager Edgar and states his understanding is that I have an issue with the costs of the repairs $4,890.74. I told him the issue is I did not authorize replacing the diamonds or the price of $4,890.74. His solution to their shady business practice??? He said minus the Jewelers labor fees, he paid $3,000 to have the 2 quad diamonds replaced and wants me to pay half of the cost at $1,500 for the quad diamonds, and now hearing for the 1st time that the prong had to be rebuilt, fixed the bottom of the band and the etching on the quad to give it that invisible look, plus pay the repair fees of $36.00 to have it cleaned polished and redipped. $48.00 to replace 1 diamond on anniversary band , $51.00 to replace 2 diamonds on the other anniversary band !!!! What??? Now I'm hearing for the first time about diamonds on my anniversary bands that were replaced without my authorization!!! Nor did i speak to anybody from Reeds to tell me about these repairs. Edgar then states if I pay all of the above then he will sell me the Life Time warranty for $315.99 for quad ring, $149.00 for diamond wedding band, and $119.00 for each of the diamond anniversary bands to total $2,337.99. Or he said he can send the rings back to the jeweler and have him put the rings back to the conditions they were in.....how the hell would I know what conditions they were in when Reeds didn't bother to call me to advise of any additional repairs my rings needed. It's Reeds problem with the associate falsifying the authorization to have the other repairs done without consulting me or getting my approval. I will NEVER purchase from Reeds again. Needless to say I was a loyal Reeds Customer and had purchased 1 ct diamond necklace, 1 ct diamond hoop earrings, my parents 3 ct and 1 ct wedding rings aside from my 4 ct bridal set and two 1/2 ct diamond anniversary bands. I definitely was not treated like a valued loyal customer or treated like a member of the "Reeds Family". I'm taking my business elsewhere!!!
I never received that call about my watch being looked at or not so I called - not the next day, but the day after. I spoke to another lady who told me that the gentleman that looks at the watches wanted to know why I'd replaced the wrist pin with an aftermarket one - strike 2. Why the heck would I put an aftermarket wrist pin in my nearly $1k watch when I have a warranty. At this point I was fuming pretty bad and demanded to speak to the store manager. She told me that she'd go get him and placed me on hold, when she got back on about 5 minutes later (dang that store must be big) she said that he'd gone on his lunch break and would call me when he returned. He called me around 5:30 and allowed me to describe the horrible lack of customer service that I'd experienced over 4 days. He promised that I'd get called when the watch was fixed and that it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks if it is just a wrist pin issue.
I called Reeds and told them that I'd found an issue with the band or the pin, the lady that took my call (Patricia?) said to bring it in and the gentleman that deals with repairs would look at it. I immediately got up, drove across town and walked in to find out "oh, he just went home" - strike 1. She took my watch in the back to look at it and said that he'd need to look at it in the morning. I left my watch with a receipt and assurance that they'd call me the following day to let me know if he could fix it or if it had to be shipped out for repairs. "If it has to go out, it'll probably take 3-4 weeks before it's back. Make sure to keep your receipt because you'll have to have it to get your watch back". We'll get back to the receipt later on, I promise.
Over the last 2 months, I haven't had a single instance of positive interaction with this location. My wife bought me a G-Shock MTG a while ago with a warranty because of the price. I brought it back when this fiasco began because my wrist latch felt funny to me, seems the wrist pin had become faulty.
I got my watch battery replaced and a couple links removed for $50. Not bad since other jewelers both local and chain refused to work on the watch because it needs a bigger tool. Gave Reeds a try since I figured if they can work on a Rolex they should be pretty good. Now the second hand on my chronograph is set slightly forward. I don't need to time things that precisely, but it's annoying that it happened. Glad It was just a ~$1,000 watch and nothing too fancy. It may be a one time thing, but I probably won't be purchasing anything from here. Definitely not a rolex/engagement ring.
I'm giving them a single star, because I thought that if I gave them zero my review wouldn't be posted.
Flash forward to this Memorial Day weekend - remember that receipt that I "had to have", well that must not actually be the case. I was out of town and my watch came back in, they did call my house (I guess there is at least one thing they did right). My son answered to find out that he could pick it up with nothing more than a driver's license that showed the same last name - strike 3. Good thing my son is trustworthy or he'd have taken it straight to the pawn shop.
The staff at reeds is awesome. They are extremely friendly and willing to answer all questions. Tony the Rolex expert helped me select the timepiece that I know will last me a lifetime.
