We, too, had a horrible experience with Ino Perez. Saying he is not a people person is an understatement! He was extremely rude, pompous, short-tempered, and obviously very frustrated with having to deal with people as part of his job. If I were to treat people the way he does, I would have been fired a long time ago. What he fails to realize is that even though he may see the same mistakes time and time again, the people he is serving are often new to the entire process, thus mistakes are inevitable. Instead of being helpful, he is quick to belittle. Had we known dealing with him was going to be as stressful as it was, we would have made the drive to Portland or Ingleside. I will definitely be filing a formal complaint and strongly advise everyone to make the drive to another facility.
Worst Experience Ever. Ino Perez who works the passport office is the most rude and arrogant man I have ever met. I came to inquire about a passport for my adoptive son and was made to feel like I am not worth his time because I am not a citizen myself. I was repeatedly told, I was not aware of how things work because I am not from here. (I have lived in the US for over 15 years on a green card from Germnay). After another appointment and a week later, I came back with all the asked paperwork, only to be told I did it all wrong and needed to redo it. My apt was at 11am and it was only 1045 so I informed him I would fill it out there, since I technically have 15 minutes. When we walked in he yelled at my son and told him to sit across the room away from me. When my son came back to me, he again yelled at him and told him to sit away from us. He then proceeded to keep my court papers and started writing on them and stapling them, when I asked him not to, he again told me I was incompetent because I was unaware of the way things are done here. At that point my husband showed up and he told my husband how I was unaware of the situation and didn't know what I was doing. Now both of us upset he laughed at us and basically stated he was the only one who can file for a passport and all other 800 people who come in his office a day are able to figure it out. I ended up leaving with all my paperwork, not filling for a passport. I have never felt so disrespected and discriminated against.
I had a great experience the lady that help me and my family today was very nice, helpful and fast.
Great place great people
Horrible, horrible! The woman who works there was so rude when making appt. Said I was lucky she even answered phone because normally you have to come into office to just make appt. Then gave me wrong info about what forms to have notarized. And then she rolled her eyes when I had forgotten to fill one of my kids heights. When they have a tape measure there to measure heights! She was extremely impatient and rude. I didn't even finish the process with them. I would rather wait and drive farther away to turn in my information than work with such a rude, impatient snob. Not my fault you don't like what you do for a living. Go to Aransas Pass post office. It may be farther away but they take walk-ins and are so kind.
