Byob with no corkage fee. Tons of food, very good value, and very tasty. It's on my short list of good Italian restaurants in Corpus christ. Stromboli was excellent and the black forest chicken was out of this world. Soup was delicious.
One of the best kept secrets. Undoubtedly this food is as authentic as it gets. I compare it to carmines in NYC. Carmines is 100 year old Italian restaurant in Manhattan New York. If you like the Olive Garden. You'll love cafe italia. Try it. You will be glad you did. Something old found a new.
Went to Cafe Italia as i was craving Italian. Walked into a totally empty restaurant. That should've been a clue. Ordered the Lasagna lunch special. The salad was the bagged chef salad you get at Walmart. It had 2 tomato slices added to it, that's all, and the ranch dressing was watery and tasteless. When my entree arrive the waitress placed it in front of me, turned around and practically ran away. I had to shout at her "Could I have some bread please?" She stopped, turned around, and looked at me but didn't say anything. I never saw her again until she brought my check. The Lasagna was OK, but I can get "OK" Lasagna from Stouffer's. It was made with ground beef! Authentic Italian? I think not. How disappointing.
I enjoyed a large portion of spaghetti with meatballs, it came with an excellent soup and some bread (didn't want the salad). Due to the newness of their business, it doesn't have that garlic in your face smell. But give it time, the garlic will defeat that new building smell in no time. I would have given a higher score, but a housefly wanted to fight me for the roll. It's not their fault, but sadly - blame the fly, fortunately it didn't land in the soup otherwise I was going to have flashbacks to a Monty Python skit - the fork was indeed quite clean. :)
Found this little Italian restaurant in a shopping center. It was so good. I recommend their linguine with white clam sauce. Perfect amount of lemon with a little kick to it. And their tiramisu is incredible as well!
