Our room was clean. Front entrance and room smelled moldy. The AC in the room was not adjustable. It was either on or off, so the room was warmer than desired with the AC on. The television turned on but only had the Marriot channel, no other channels available.
Corpus Christi's Courtyard by Marriott is a clean and decent hotel, well located for easy highway access. The staff is amicable and our room was clean upon arrival. Bonus points for including Bloomberg TV to their available TV channels. I also enjoyed that our room had a couch and a working desk even if I only got to use them briefly. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you're looking for something standard and solid. No bells and whistles but no issues either.
The only redeeming quality this place had was perhaps the staff. They were generally nice and helpful.
2.) the breakfast at the cafe tasted stale
Hotel and room was very nice, clean, and comfy. Room had a nice decor. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast, while not your typical free buffet, was very good, though a bit pricey if it's not included in your room. The only reason a star was removed is because a smoke detector in our room malfunctioned at about 6am, waking us up in a bit of a panic. Though they quickly sent someone up to give us a key to a vacant room across from us while it was fixed. I'm not sure if it was a low battery or what, but it's something I don't think should happen. So the staff handled it well but it did throw off the rest of our day rest-wise. But other than that, I'd recommend this place and we'd likely stay here again.
4.) the TV cable was broken (to the credit of the staff, the guy stayed to help longer than he needed. very helpful guy)
Probably the worst marriott experience I've had. I travel a lot for work and stay at mostly one of the Marriotts for the convenience, reliability, and cleanliness. This was not that and truly disappointing. They overbooked and I was close to being bumped because my flight got in late. Ended up in a room that was clearly the bottom of the barrel. You could hear everyone above me and the person next to me. Room was unclean and the sheets had hair all over them. Truly disappointing and would not recommend.
I normally enjoy my stay in a Marriott hotel, but this one needs to be looked over by management. I've stayed here twice and the place feels like a gross like a drive in motel. Here's a list of issues my wife and I experienced:
3.) the iced coffee I ordered was obviously chilled from the old coffee from the night before and tasted like it was made with cigarette water.
1.) The place felt humid and muggy throughout the building (room, lobby, hallway)
5.) we got bug bites from either fleas or bed bugs after sleeping in the bed.
